BIS BISS Am. Can. Ch. Sendero's O'Hara, HIC TT (Scarlett)
Scarlett, although only one of two girls from Dax’s litter, ruled the roost along with her brother Mr. Green (BIS, BISS Champion Sendero’s Our Tornado). A benevolent dictator, Scarlett was a very sweet and kind little girl—as long as she got what she wanted!
When her show career began we just knew it was going to be fun! She loved to show and truly enjoyed being in the ring. She finished quickly and, while she was not specialed to any great degree, did make appearances at some specialties winning an Award of Merit at the Atlantic States Briard Club Specialty in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania along the way.
We did not think that she could love anything more than showing but motherhood turned out to be her calling. Scarlett breezed through whelping a litter of nine (four girls and five boys) sired by Liz and Rick Kenitz's Champion Briardale Pride de Seuletoile (Pride). She adored showing off her babies, practically dragging visitors to her box for show-and-tell. Scarlett was surely one of our best moms ever!
Several of Scarlett's kids went on to earn championships including her daughter Brinkley who earned multiple obedience titles with her mom Katie Larsen. Brinkley was a real show machine who just lit up in every way when she entered the ring. We lost Brinkley last year and she will be missed by all of us.
The last few years of Scarlett's life were characterized by the dignity and regality that only old Briards possess. She was the queen of all she saw and was respected by all of our other dogs. She was old and wise and her fellow Briards, Havanese and Cresteds all adored her. When she passed away she left a huge hole in everyone's hearts.
